Basic Performance Studies
IDs: fjaa0019, [fjaa140856]
Summary
This is the top of a set of posts that examine the basic performance of a material test system. The outline that follows takes you to specific studies that have been done for this documentation set.
Outline
The nominal hierarchy is System > Loading Type > Analysis. Use the post links to go to the indicated analysis. Post links take you to the top of that post. Outline links take you to the outline for the analysis that is on the post page. Comments takes you to the applicable post comment to start reviewing reader feedback.
Public Starting Point (fjaa0019)
The web card shown here is available to the public, using either of these links; Top - Card. No membership is required to see it. The links there point to the primary entry points to the documentation for this project.
Introduction
This blog post will evolve over time. Its purpose is to accumulate conclusions about the basic performance of a material test machine. These conclusions will be drawn from discussions of simulation and physical test results. The final report begins here (linkTBD). The full Table of Contents (ToC) is (here)
The first things that will appear are notes related to simulation studies. They are listed in the Simulation Studies section. Once posted, those simulations are intended to lead to physical testing aimed at validating (or invalidating) conclusions suggested by the simulations. See this Folder to browse the data files and screenshots from the various studies. As additional resource pools are created, the links below will become active and effective. The strikethrough of the text will also be eliminated.

Simulation Studies
Working notes for these simulation studies are being collected in the Mechatronics 101 bundle xxxx-171337. See file Validate This-171337-yymmddx.pdf files, in the shared folder files0019 for the latest published notes. You do need to download the file after opening it so that all the internal links work correctly (A01). A sample of the first page of the document is shown below. Use the ToC and Index links to rapidly navigate the document (A02).
FJAa-2024-0920-150916: A preliminary study; {tag150916}. Primary focus was on getting the steps of the process worked out. That included setting up the major resources now listed in the Links section at the beginning of this blog post.
